I had become desensitized to pornography in my adolescent and young adult years to the point that when I wanted to quit, I couldn't. Trying to accomplish this on my own only led to small successes, then ultimately failure over and over again. It led to other addictions of energy drinks and an over indulgence of food as a coping mechanism from trying to quit.

Always motivated in the beginning to quit on my own, it didn't take long for that motivation to wear down. Temptations are like a worm on a fishing hook, as long as you continue to bite you'll never be free. Which is why I thought back at what would have been the most helpful on my journey to self control... someone who is always going to be there when you're at your weakest. Someone you can talk to on a daily basis.
